'Natural forces within are the true healers of disease' -Hippocrates

Humoral medicine is the traditional system of healthcare of the Western world. It is intrinsically holistic in its approach, taking its starting point as the belief that the Cosmos is a harmonious interaction of all of its parts.

These natural cosmic forces manifest as four basic elements; Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

The cosmic elements arise in the body as four humours, which through their appropriate interaction enable health to be maintained.

When one of these humours becomes excessive it will cause internal imbalance and ill health.

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to ascertain which humoral imbalance is behind the loss of health and vitality in a patient, and through the use of herbs, diet and lifestyle return them to wellness.
